The basis of good fiction/fantasy is to facilitate the reader's desire to suspend disbelief.  To do this, the author must incorporate as much fact as possible to support the fictional premise.  Character development is essential to give the reader someone they can identify with, someone they can care about.

Avoid 1st person stories, instead use 3rd person perspective and never let your characters talk 'to' the reader, instead tell your reader about the characters, what has happened (and is happening) to them and how they feel about those events.  The events might be fiction/fantasy, but realistic responses by your characters will ring true to your readers and give your characters believability.

In the current state this story is, I doubt you will have any problems with any spin-off authors misusing your work.  There is no plot, there are no characters (just names), and you failed in your stated goal of conveying the japanese outlook on transgender issues.

Finally, proofread your work repeatedly.  Have a friend proofread it.  Make two hard copies and have someone read it aloud while you follow along reading your copy with a correction pen in hand.  Don't trust the spell-checker to supply the proper words for you.  Just because a word is spelled correctly doesn't mean its the right word.  Don't use the submission box to compose your work, do it properly, with a word processor; edit, proofread, re-write, etc until it is the best you can do.  Then copy paste it onto the site.

Little Pink Mini by Maeryn Lamonte Rated: Mature Audiences (Age 16+) (M) starstarhalf-star [Reviews - 5]
Summary:

Eric's Gran left him a car in her will, only it's not quite what he expected.

In time the unusual bequest pushes him to face some hidden truths inside himself, and from there face off against some people who don't want to accept that such truths should exist.

There is some small reference to violence in this, but nothing explicit

Marvelous tale told well!   did find a 'me' where a 'my' should be, and a 'me' that got missed in editing, so I'd suggest more proofreading; but it wasn't enough to detract from your talent much.  My honest opinion is that this is a much longer and detailed story that has had its summary posted.  You've got skill...show us all what'chya got girlfriend.

If I could give you one word of advice, it would be "PROOFREAD" before clicking on submit.  Many technical errors throughout your work.  'people', being plural, means they 'were' not 'was', as an example from "An Unexpected Pastime"    Both your postings were claimed to be your first published work,  inconsistent don't'cha' think?  Lots of potential for both stories; but in my opinion, both are simply introductions to stories which never develop a plotline.

Some folks may consider me a nit-picking critic, don't care.  I see lots of potential, good imagination powers, and hope you continue writing and perfecting your artistry; and through that struggle, become the talent you have locked inside.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be a bit more clear regarding which one was my first story. I first started writing Aaron's Punishment but An Unexpected Pastime was the first one that I posted to the site, primary because it was smaller.

You're correct in that they are both simply introductions. I usually plan out my stories before starting but in the case of these two, I attempted the opposite and mostly wrote whatever came to mind.

As for the spelling, I've done what I can to clean it up. I do proofread my work several times before posting however clearly I'm terrible at it. My brain seems to see what words they should be, rather then what's actually written. In future, I'll try to be more thorough though.

This story is in part inspired by the work of the author Nicholas Blincoe who often had TG characters in his crime fiction. As always I love to get your feedback.

Provocative plotline, awesome story, a tad light on the TG theme in my opinion.  Not really sure if cross-dressing as a disguise qualifies.  But hey, I don't voice an opinion on stuff that doesn't meet the grade.
