Good story. Too bad the author is no longer with us and we will read no more of her adventurous imagination. Where ever she is I hope she has found happiness.

As someone famous once said, reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated (or something).
If you liked this story, you will no doubt have read the follow-up, which is "The other side of the fence".
A third story arc is currently in preparation, but as this has swollen to nearly double the parts (!) it is obviously taking me longer to write and edit for publication. This is probably going to take me at least another month before it appears here.
That won't be the end of the story, by the way. A fourth part is projected, but as the story moves out of the facility into the wider world it obviously requires more careful attention. That, plus the fact that I have at least three other stories demanding that I write them means that the fourth part won't see daylight until probably the end of this year. Apologies, citizen.

A sweet story about enforced gender assignment, if now such stories can be sweet :) Very well written and, shall we call it civilized? But if I was the guy I would have gone mad:)
But for those dreaming of it, well, a favorite I think? The only issue I have is with the civility. It’s like they all are on tranquilizers, there should have been some more reactions than just acceptance to make it real for me. But other than that, a very cool tale.
